The Quebec’s Second Residential Building

The second residential building in Quebec at Zibi has been entrusted to the expertise of Ed Brunet’s team, working collaboratively with Ledcor Construction. This ambitious project encompasses a 15-storey concrete marvel, comprising 129 meticulously designed apartment units that offer breathtaking views of the Ottawa River. The new construction has resulted in a sprawling 165,000 square feet of residential space that promises comfort and luxury.

Innovative Integration

Adding to the building’s unique features is the inclusion of Zibi’s District Thermal’s central plant. This plant ingeniously utilizes a neighboring post-industrial energy source to efficiently heat and cool this dynamic new urban environment, epitomizing the community’s commitment to sustainability and its objective to be a Cabon Net Zero development.

Challenges and Triumphs

The project, like many others during recent times, faced notable challenges. The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic led to unforeseen shutdowns, while delays in window manufacturing and the broader impact on the supply chain posed significant hurdles. Despite these obstacles, the dedication and resilience of the construction teams ensured the completion of this essential addition to the Zibi community.
